Online Safety
08-06-20- Update
A great resource to use during this time is the 'Think u Know' website. It has a range of materials for children and parents to use and it is a great starting point to discuss online safety with your child. Use the link below to visit the page and explore the games, worried about something page and guidance that it has to offer.
11-05-20- Update
With everything that is currently going on, it is more important than ever to discuss Internet Safety as most children will spend even more time online. At the bottom of this document, there are some top tips on remote learning, child welfare, Youtube use and being kinder online.
05/05/20- A task to complete at home is to create an Internet safety poster. I would love to see them so email them to either Mr Gibbs or your teachers.
For Parents- Concerns about Online Safety
If you do have concerns about online safety, inappropriate conversations or content, it is important to report it.
The following link gives you details of who to report matters to either for general concerns or to make a complaint to a website:
https://www.internetmatters.org/report-issue/
Matters can also be reported to the online police agency - CEOPs:

The NSPCC has created a number of resources to support parents and carers during this difficult time. Topics include:

The advice can be found on the NSPCC website here: https://www.nspcc.org.uk/keeping-children-safe/coronavirus-advice-suppport-children-families-parents/
Top Tips and Internet Safety Day
We suggest you have an open door policy with your children and make sure you constantly discuss Internet Safety with them. Think about setting up some parental controls within your house but Please note though that these will not be applied to mobile devices that run on 4G (e.g. your child's mobile phone). A quick guide to read can be found here as well from the BBC.
Here is a Junior age search engine - http://www.swiggle.org.uk/ to have a look at using for your children rather than just google / bing / yahoo etc.
Also, please find a link to Safer Internet day that we were a part of on Tuesday 11th February
