Carol Concert
After three years of virtual concerts...
After three years of virtual concerts, our traditional carol concert went live again at St Mary's Church. As has become traditional, we congregated at the school equipped with various torches and lanterns to process down to the church. The service opened with 'Once in Royal David City, with a stunning solo first verse sung beautifully by Henry in Year 6. The evening consisted of readings to remind us of the Christmas story and presentations by each Year group explaining the theme of this term's RE in terms of light, interpretation, angels and hope. Well done to the dancers in Year 4 who shared a dance with us on the theme of light - fully equipped with glow sticks. This was particularly relevant this year with the Light of Hope installation at Winchester Cathedral and our own wonderful version at St Mary's along with the tumbling display of stars produced by all the children. The Senior Choir supported the singing beautifully, as well as singing a lovely version of Snow on Snow. Well done to everyone who attended, Rev Jo estimated about 500, who helped to really raise the roof. Thank you also to the governors who organised the mince pies and mulled wine afterwards, which I am sure was much appreciated on such a cold night
