Tudor and Stuart Dance Day
Year 5 have been working hard at their indoor PE of late with the help of a local dance teacher.
Many parents came from each year 5 class to see and enjoy the three dances that their children had learnt in a day's PE teaching. We all also learnt more about courtly dances as well as those of the ordinary folk and preferred these instead of the preening / showing off style dances! We also learnt that the Stuarts danced in lighter weight clothing and moved more freely with hops and bounces compared to the Tudors. A wonderful way to finish a wonderful term's learning about our local history and what life could have been like when the Royal Family came to visit the once great Basing House.
