An excellent performance by our girls’ cricket team meant that St. Mary’s were the runners-up in the Basingstoke Schools Kwik Cricket tournament on 18^th June.

Our team, comprising children from Years 5 and 6, demonstrated very high levels of batting, fielding and bowling. Moreover, this was combined with a superb team spirit and outstanding sportsmanship throughout.

The girls were so enthusiastic about their opportunity to play in this prestigious tournament that they even arranged to play an impromptu, extended game after they had been narrowly defeated in the final! It was a struggle for parents and teachers alike to get them to go home! This wonderful energy reflected their excellent commitment and enjoyment.

Many thanks to those parents who provided transport and who lent their support at the competition on the day.
