19/05/20 Update
Further to yesterday's update, we have added more learning resources.
History - use video sessions to learn more about Ancient Civilisations in a fun way. Read and have a go at the range of tasks.
Spelling - work through the spelling mats to not only learn the Year 3/4 spelling list, but to practise some grammar and handwriting too.
Poetry - we have posted something to read about all different kinds of poetry. Get busy exploring some poetry choosing whichever style you like. You could choose your own themes such as: Summer, lockdown, space, imaginary creatures, the ocean,,, Is there a theme you are longing to write about? If you have a poetry book at home, can you write in the style of a favourite poem, but change the theme?
Water-cycle comprehension - what can you learn about the water cycle? This is a 3 star activity so, if you find it tricky, ask an adult to read it with you. Why is the water cycle so important?
Comic Strip - could you change one of your story ideas into a comic strip? You will find a blank comic strip to use in the resources.
18/05/20- Update
We hope that you are enjoying the work that has been set and keep sending pictures to your teachers! A few more tasks that you can try at home:
Geography- Draw a picture of the world and try to label as many countries as possible. Do this without looking at a map to start with and then have another go looking at a map.
Art- Use Art Hub to practise drawing. Think about the shading and look at the examples here. Also, think about creating a collage with natural resources.
P.E.- We would be doing athletics at the moment so practise running 60m, throwing and jumping skills. Maybe you could create a home work out?
Update 11/05/20
Hello everyone! We hope you have had a lovely bank holiday weekend. If you celebrated VE Day in a special way, why not record it? You could write a short report, a diary entry, produce a scrapbook or make a PowerPoint presentation; include photos of your decorations, food and general celebrations. This would be great to look back at in the years to come...
If you look at the very end of this page, we have given you some new activities to get your teeth into. As requested by some parents, we have separated the answers more and, instead of one pack, the activities are separate files. It does make for a longer list but we hope you find it more user and printer friendly. Where we have used Twinkl resources, the 2 star work is for children working at expected levels, the 3 star work is for more challenge and the 1 star is for children who require more support.
Remember to keep going, be positive and be proud of the work you are doing. Try to set yourself a target of what you can achieve each day but remember to keep healthy too. What different types of exercise can you and your family fit into each day? Are you remembering to have some moments of calmness, away from televisions, computers, phones and ipads? Please remember to e-mail us any examples of super work that you would like published on our website.
Keep staying safe and well everyone!

20/04/20- The start of summer
Hello to everyone!
We hope that you all had a lovely Easter and made the best out of a strange situation! Today would have marked the start of the summer term in school and our topic would have been Ancient Civilisations. To kick off the summer term, we would like you to research each of the three civilisations below:
-Ancient Sumer
-Shang dynasty
-Indus Valley
You need to find out 5-10 interesting facts about them. Try to include: where they lived, the climate, what they invented, how long they lasted for and do we still use anything they made today. To help, we have added information pages at the bottom of this page.
Education City
Additionally, we have added 6 new homework challenges to Education City.
These challenges are split into categories of challenging, all and support. Pick the level you would like to try and complete the activities. They will expire on 8th May and teachers will be looking to see who has completed the activities.
Finally- Keep sending your baking/cooking to Mr Gibbs. He is amazed by what you have been making and would love some of the recipes to try for himself!
Take care
