On Thursday the 3^rd of March, Year 3 went on an exciting visit to hear and see The Royal Philharmonia perform ‘Orchestra Unwrapped’. The children got to listen to different pieces of classical music from ‘Carnival of the Animals’. We listened to the pieces and then were encouraged to think about which animal we thought they represented. The children loved guessing and most shocked their teachers by guessing the right animals which were bumblebees, elephants and even some underwater creatures. Finally they loved joining in dancing and singing along to ‘How Far I’ll Go’ from Moana and getting to learn about the different instrumental families that you would find in the Orchestra. It was a great opportunity for the children to hear different kinds of music and see a number of instruments they may never have seen before.
