Headteacher Update
Dear Parents/carers
Well there went the Easter holidays! I hope you all managed to enjoy your staycation, whether you made a virtual trip to the beach, an overseas destination or visited a museum or art gallery for free. All joking aside all of these opportunities are now available whether you watch a webcam to visit place or take a virtual tour. As well as being great learning opportunities, you now have the chance to visit some places you have always wanted to see or to visit a museum or art gallery without loads of other people around.
As time now moves on and things do not appear to be changing anytime soon, we do continue to get daily updates from the DfE. The link to the guidance for parents is on our website and the link to the most current guidance on helping primary school aged children learn at home can be found here:

Attached to this email is an updated list of the criteria for keyworkers.
The teachers continue add new home-learning activities to our website as well as further activities to support well-being and online safety. In the parent section there are also links that will support you to raise concerns and report issues that you may have whilst being online. At the moment there are a wealth of resources online which can be both confusing and daunting. I would suggest that you continue to make the most of the learning opportunities on our website and if you wish to, supplement it with the resources on the governments new hub or the BBC, both of which went live on Monday. |
Launch of the Oak National Academy online classroom and resource hub
The sector-led Oak National Academy has today launched its online classroom and resource hub. The Academy offers 180 video lessons each week for schools to use, across a broad range of subjects. The lessons cover children in Reception through to Year 10 and are free to use by both teachers and young people.

Launch of BBC Bitesize
The BBC has today launched an education package across TV and online, featuring celebrities and teachers, helping to keep children learning at home and supporting parents.

A couple of reminders: Instrument lessons – the information about the provision of virtual lessons was previously sent out to all those who currently have lessons with Hampshire Music Service. You can find all of the details on our website. Remember that you do need to sign up. Scopay – it has come to our attention that Scopay has gone a little rogue and added on payments for Summer term clubs. We think that we have now rectified the situation but please let us know if you still get payment requests. Music fees remain on the system and as we previously said, if you can help us with these we would be grateful. |
